Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Daily Puzzle (the “Service”) collects, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
- Account data (if you sign in): your email address and an optional display name.
- Anonymous play data: a random anonymous identifier stored in a cookie, your IP address, and your browser’s user agent string, used to record completions and prevent abuse.
- Authenticated play data: the same as above, associated with your account instead of an anonymous identifier.
- User-uploaded images: any image you upload to generate your own puzzle.
- Contact messages: anything you send us through contact forms or replies.
2. Cookies
We use the following cookies:
- An anonymous ID cookie used to track puzzle completions for users who are not signed in.
- A “solved” cookie that records you have already finished today’s puzzle.
- Authentication session cookies if you sign in.
3. How we use information
- To deliver the daily puzzle and track completions.
- To operate leaderboards, stats, and anti-abuse controls.
- To generate puzzle images from your prompts or uploads.
- To respond to contact messages.
- To debug, secure, and improve the Service.
4. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of vendors to operate the Service. They process data only on our behalf and only as needed:
- Cloud hosting for our database, storage, and authentication.
- Image-generation service providers for producing puzzle images.
- Slack for delivering operational notifications and contact-form messages to our team.
5. Data retention
We retain completion records, uploaded images, and account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the Service. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Visit our contact page to exercise these rights.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
